Terms of Service
Last updated: 19 August 2026 · Draft — review before launch
These terms govern your use of the WatchMyRide app, website (watchmyride.in), QR stickers and related services (the “Service”), operated by WatchMyRide (“we”, “us”). By using the Service you agree to these terms.
1. What WatchMyRide does
WatchMyRide lets a vehicle owner place a QR sticker on their vehicle so that a person who scans it can send an anonymous alert or, where enabled, connect a private (number-masked) call — without exposing anyone’s phone number. Owners may optionally publish emergency (ICE) information that is revealed only in a genuine emergency.
2. Your account
You are responsible for your account and for the accuracy of the information you add (vehicles, contact number, emergency details). Keep your login secure. You must be legally able to enter these terms and use a vehicle you register.
3. Acceptable use
- Don’t use the Service to harass, threaten, stalk or defraud anyone.
- Don’t send false emergency reports or misuse the alert and calling features.
- Don’t attempt to identify anonymous senders, or to bypass the privacy protections.
- Don’t copy, resell or forge WatchMyRide QR codes; each code is issued by us.
We may suspend or remove access, or retire a QR code, if it is misused.
4. QR stickers & codes
Each QR code is issued from our inventory and bound to your vehicle when you activate it. A retired or rotated code is permanently deactivated and never reused. Physical stickers are sold through our listed channels (e.g. marketplaces); pricing and availability may change.
5. Payments
Where you purchase stickers or subscriptions, payments are processed by our third-party payment providers. Taxes may apply. Refunds, if any, follow the policy shown at the point of purchase.
6. Emergency information
Emergency (ICE) details you choose to publish are shown to a person only in a genuine emergency, subject to the gates described in the app. This information is provided by you and may not reflect the person actually present; it is a convenience, not a substitute for professional medical judgement or verified records.
7. Availability & changes
We aim to keep the Service running but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. Masked calling and other features may depend on third-party providers and coverage.
8. Disclaimers & liability
The Service is provided “as is”. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the acts of the people who scan or respond. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
9. Termination
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time (see Account & data deletion). We may suspend accounts that breach these terms.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at [your city] have exclusive jurisdiction. [Placeholder — set your registered city/entity.]
